A Kohler Andrae State Park engagement session is perfect for couples who love the beach as much as we do. Lake Michigan is gorgeous and the majestic sand dunes provide a stunning backdrop. We had actually rescheduled because the weather was predicted to be stormy. Unsurprisingly, for Wisconsin, it turned out that it didn’t rain at all. Regardless, the new date was even better. The weather was in the low 70’s, no humidity, and Lake Michigan’s temperature was perfectly warm! Did you know that Lake Michigan is the warmest during August?
I was actually born and raised in Michigan so I may be a little biased when I say that the view of Lake Michigan looks best on Michigan’s side. However, Wisconsin does offer many locations that make for some awesome photo opportunities. Kohler Andrae State Park being one of them. It’s even better when it’s a really windy day!
Believe it or not, I prefer windy beach sessions because it creates so much movement and makes everything look extra dreamy. The trade-off is that your hair and makeup could potentially be all over the place. I personally think that the messy, not-so-put-together look is perfect for the beach and it’s a win-win situation.
Maggie was expecting to jump into a busy school season right after this shoot date. This beachy Kohler Andrae State Park engagement session was the perfect way to end a summer romance. But love didn’t end there as these two got married about a month later and started fall off with wedding bells.
