This Villa Terrace Milwaukee wedding was a joyous celebration that withstood the unpredictable weather of Wisconsin. An unending cycle of sunshine, rainbows, high winds, and rain made for a thrilling day. The surprise “group activity” of moving the ceremony and reception inside was a memorable moment. Family and friends optimistically joined hands to make Katelyn and Gunnar’s special day a success despite the weather.

We were able to enjoy dry weather in the beginning of the day which allowed for portraits out in the Renaissance Garden and on the terrace.
Right before the ceremony began, Katelyn and Gunnar had a special rainbow appearance over Lake Michigan. Despite the prediction of rain, family and friends were cheering and full of optimism for a happy wedding day.
What should you do if it rains in the middle of your wedding ceremony? Katelyn and Gunnar paused the ceremony and took everything into the Great Hall. Although visually beautiful, the rain was so heavy that it became distracting for guests. Regardless, we were able to take advantage of another beautiful space at this gorgeous Milwaukee wedding venue.
You guessed it. As soon as the ceremony ended, the rain stopped and cocktail hour took place outside on the terrace as the new husband and wife gave a toast and poured into the champagne tower.
The reception was originally set up in the courtyard. Just as the Renee Breanne Design team was finishing up with décor, we received a sudden storm warning announcement. The party moved indoors for a final time.
The rain stopped as dinner ended. Katelyn and Gunnar had their first dance outside on the terrace as they had wished. The night ended with fun, laughter, and a happy newlywed couple.
